What is Pre-Algebra[edit | edit source]

Arithmetic is the base for Algebra and Algebra is base knowledge that you need to do nearly every other form of higher math. As such it is important to get very thorough coverage of Algebra and we start with Pre-Algebra. Here many of the concepts and operations that you will come in contact with in Algebra are introduced and with a little more of an Arithmetic buffer than you will have in a more rigorous Algebra class. The pace is slower to allow more time to acclimate yourself to idea of letters in your numbers and the numbers you have to work with are generally easier. Many of the lessons that you have in Pre-Algebra you will see again in Algebra but there is so much to take in that the extra year of study is usually well worth it because you will be using these rules for many years to come.
