What is Algebra?[edit | edit source]

Algebra is taking observations and processes and presenting them in a mathematical nature, like an equation, so they can be generalized and manipulated. Algebra gives the rules for manipulation and teaches how to solve from numbers we have to figure out like when you're planning your wedding and you know there are 200 people coming how many tables, that seat 8 people each, are you going to need? Algebra not only teaches us how to set up an equation for this but how to solve it. In this particular case you would only have to divide 200 by 8 and round up but there are countless situations that require logic of this nature that work with much more difficult numbers.
